Online Therapist & Psychotherapy in Michigan
ABOUT DR. BETH REIMEL

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Washington University and my PhD from the University of Chicago, where I also was granted a post-doctoral fellowship in mental health. I have completed the third level of the Gottman Couple Therapy training as well as completed a year of training in the developmental model of couples therapy from Dr. Ellen Bader. In addition to my clinical practice, I have taught clinical courses at the graduate level at two universities.
I view the development of a therapeutic relationship in which clients sense my authenticity and respect for them to be key in developing a positive therapeutic outcome. I am known for my ability to listen carefully and respond with empathy and depth of perception. Although I refer clients for medication evaluation where appropriate, I have also been effective with clients who want to use psychotherapy alone.

I studied psychological stress in-depth for my doctoral dissertation and have been a stress manager for a hospital department dealing with ongoing stressful patient care situations. I am able to provide a calm presence that helps clients feel safe to open up about what brings them to counseling.
